DUmmies Campaign to "Turn Off Fox"

Things just aren't going good for the DUmmies during this "Recovery Summer." Democrats poll numbers way down, leftwing anger with Obama, and the spectacular epic fail of Recovery Summer. So what to do? Blame Fox News for their woes as you can see in this THREAD, "'Turn Off Fox'...Campaign to get Fox News turned off in stores, restaurants, & other public places." Yeah, reality hurts the Left so much that they can't bear to watch it even briefly when exposed to Fox News in public places so they are laughably trying to TURN IT OFF. So let us now watch the DUmmies screech to "Turn Off Fox" in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, noting that Megyn Kelly turns me on, is in the [brackets]:

"Turn Off Fox"...Campaign to get Fox News turned off in stores, restaurants, & other public places

[To be replaced by Al Jazeera?]

Have you ever looked up at the television at a local business -- your gym, an auto shop, a bar or restaurant -- only to find Glenn Beck or Bill O'Reilly shouting down at you? Often without thinking about it, many businesses and other public establishments are providing a vehicle for Fox News' attempts to divide America. Now you can do something about it.

[Stand by for the laugh lines.]

Today, ColorOfChange.org is launching Turn Off Fox -- a massive campaign to get Fox News turned off in stores, restaurants, and other public places.

There are several ways you can get involved:

[DUAC! DUAC!]

Join the campaign by signing our petition calling on businesses in your community and across America to turn off Fox News Channel (you'll also get a free TurnOffFox sticker!)

Know of businesses or other public places that play Fox News? You can help us identify them, and if you're willing to talk with them, we provide materials that make it easy to explain why they should change the channel.

[Will this earn me my Jr. Thought Police merit badge?]

If there are businesses you know that want to tell the world they would never play Fox, you can help them declare themselves a "Fox-free zone."

[aka "Thought-free zone."]

Please check out TurnOffFox.org, join us, and get involved!

Get your free Turn Off Fox sticker

[It's going to be FUn to see who has these bumper stickers on their cars. I always love to see what kind of loons are driving with those stickers. Now on to the "free speech" DUmmies...]

So if Fox goes away. Where would you send your friends who are looking for unbiased news? MSNBC is out, they are just as biased as Fox. So what out there is unbiased enough to give people access to real factual news and allows people to think for themselves?

[LOUSY FREEPER TROLL! Your tombstoning has already begun!]

al jazeera english and BBC both do commendable jobs of dispassionate and objective reporting.

[LOL! Thanx for the leftwing loon laugh line!]

Democracy Now, CBC Radio, BBC World Service

[No fear that people will actual listen to those in public places.]

Who watches TV in a restaurant? Sports bars should have sports on. Restaurants, if they must have something on, should have the Food Network on. That always makes me hungry!

[Good point. About the only public place I have ever LISTENED to TV has been in laundromats and I don't use them any more. (I've got some great Tide coupons!)]

There is also pacifica news, which is a loose affiliation of radio stations that pool their money to provide good reporting.

[A loose affiliation with their screws loose.]

MSNBC is biased toward the truth, not filthy, lying right-wing propaganda.

[Ed Schultz loves MSNBC so much that it threatened to go postal and TORCH it recently. ]

Clean the airwaves of anti-American, hate-soaked agitprop.

[Why do you hate MSNBC which Ed Schultz wants to torch?]

If they don't get to watch fox do we not get to see MSNBC?

[If you can't see MSNBC it is because Ed Schultz has torched it.]

Living the Liberal Bubble that is the Soviet of Seattle I never see FOX on in ANY establishment.

[Great description. Soviet of Seattle.]

We also need to push for restoration of restrictions on media consolidation and of the Fairness Doctrine, and above all for net neutrality.

[Don't be shy. Just say what you really mean. Scream it out. CENSORSHIP!!! There, don't you feel better now?]

At my health club if I walk past a tv with fox on Ill reach up and turn it off, people get pissed off but who the f*** cares what those fox news drones have to say.

[A prime candidate for a sock in the jaw at his gym.]

And when this doesn't work do we hold a TV burning?

[A Kewpie Doll is in the mail to you.]

Let's all work to turn off FOX. They have turned my parents into hate spewing drones suddenly comfortable with all kinds of idiocy and bigotry. I can't stand FOX news....

[So turn on Ed Schultz and watch him torch MSNBC.]

Over a year ago I wrote a post saying that I politely ask the business to change the channel off of Fox when on in a public area. For some reason I was inundated with people defending Fox and one even said they would counteract me by asking Fox to be turned on. This was on DU. Still pisses me off when I think about it.

[If I'm not mistaken I think we DUFUed your thread which completely boomeranged on you.]

And yes, it seems, every place I go...FoxNooseChannel is blasting.

[Mommy! Make them stop blasting the truth!!!]

Nine TVS in the tread mill, etc. area and 3 of them have Faux news.

[EEK! The customers are being given a choice. Oh, the horror!]

Just sent off a copy of the white paper to the board of directors of my "active adult" community. I'm forced to keep my eyes on the ground the whole time I'm at the fitness center.

[Did you remember to put on your ear and brain plugs?]

I just walk up to it and change the channel ...f*ck em if they don't like it...I'll go someplece el. I'll just go some place else if they bitch.

[Another candidate for a jaw busting.]

When I was coming out from anesthesia about a year ago I woke up to Glen Beck screaming like Hitler in my ears. At first I was just stunned... I sat bolt upright and threw an uncharacteristic, melodramatic fit, that surprised even me; flailing my arms complete with all the post op plumbing losing the finger monitor and life monitors flying asunder, setting off alarms and mortifying the nurses as emergency staff rushed into the room. I told them to get that god damned Nazi crap away from my ears and out of my sight.

[At that point they re-applied the anesthesia so you could painfully wake up again on the other side of early November.]

Needless to say they scrambled to shut off the monitor by yanking the plug from its socket. One of the nurses came to calm me down and check the connections and reconnect the monitors;...."They don't listen to us" "Now the admins will stop this nonsense" I heard one of the nurses say to the the others while others appeared to agree. I was on a morphine drip, cranky from the pain of surgery, a little loopy, was fearless and had few inhibitions. Not a good time to fool with my senses.

[The nurses then decided to increase the morphine drip to the gushing flow rate.]

The next day when I became ambulatory, walking with the bottles and plumbing still attached to my veins, but now on rollers, I searched out the chief; And ask whether it was he who was forcing this right wing propaganda on his patients; Some even comatose but many just out of it.

[Did you have the enema tube attached to your mouth?]

If Obama really wanted to stop the propaganda and lies,
he would instruct his FCC chief to REINSTATE THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE. All of America would benefit. The American citizen could once again be honestly informed. Maybe that's the problem. An uninformed populace is much easier to manipulate.

[Hmmm... Fox News is cable so not subject to the FCC. But no matter. Go ahead and CENSOR.]

You know if it wasn't for the fact that the Moonbat who made that post on DU didn't have a slew of gutter language and had a coherent (tho unbelievably stupid) presentation of his viewpoint, I'd swear that was Troglaman The Guttersnipe. The thought process is exactly the same. But Guttersnipe can't ever be that coherent and is determined to drop some curse word ever other sentence if not every other word in his diatribes.

The Moonbats are getting craziers and crazier as their day of reckoning (Election Day 2010) draws closer and they hear the rumble of the incoming political tsunami that will destroy their current hold on power.

Damn, the DUmmies are such whining crybabies! "Waah! Faux News is giving me mental cooties. Waah!"

Fortunately, they're powerless, whining crybabies. Isolated and victims of group think, the DUmmies can't bear the fact that someone, somewhere, might be having impure political thoughts or expressing ideas they disagree with. It's revealing that DUmmies are so eager to silence the speech of others; it might be the influence of Skinner, the censor- in-chief or it could be an impulse that so easily springs into the minds of Leftists.

The next time a DUmmie encounters FOX he should clap his hands over his ears and shout "Nyah, Nyah, Nyah, can't hear you!" That's the level of intellectual discourse your average DUmmie brings to the conversation.

What the fuck are you talking about, you loon? Do you actually think equating silencing Fox with net neutrality even makes sense?

There aren't many on the left that think FOX is a legitimate news organization. They're right. But, at the same time, FOX can say whatever the hell they want. Stating they're full of shit simply completes the conceptual circle of "freedom of speech".

And you're coming out against net neutrality, kat? Why's that? What do you think 'net neutrality' is? I would be interested to know.

Why, you ask? Because I already know you're so full of misinformed shit that you'll be backpedaling forever and making me, the mighty troglaman, look good. That's why.

The way they sell net neutrality would be something I wouldn't mind, Oh Troggles, but unfortunately the way they want to implement it just gives the government more power that they quite frankly don't need and I don't want them to have. Anything that gives the government control over the flow of information is a bad thing, imo.

What the fuck are you talking about? What's scary about how the government wants to implement it? They're already implementing it, dumbass. We're already net-neutral.

Net neutrality has to do with being charged more for access and speed. If you're net-neutral, you don't want to be charged more for access. If you're not net-neutral, you're OK with being butt-fucked by Verizon and Google.

It really is that simple. And yet you stupid jackasses continue to want to bend over. Mind-boggling. I don't fucking get it. I admit it. I do not get it.

From PPP.

"Polling on the Spill

The oil spill in the Gulf may be mostly out of the headlines now but Louisiana voters aren't getting any less mad at Barack Obama about his handling of it. Only 32% give Obama good marks for his actions in the aftermath of the spill, while 61% disapprove.

Louisianans are feeling more and more that George W. Bush's leadership on Katrina was better than Obama's on the spill. 54% think Bush did the superior job of helping the state through a crisis to 33% who pick Obama. That 21 point margin represents a widening since PPP asked the same question in June and found Bush ahead by a 15 point margin. Bush beats Obama 87-2 on that score with Republicans and 42-30 with independents, while Obama has just a 65-24 advantage with Democrats."

You can complicate it as much as you want, but that's what it boils down to.

"They're going to take one of the freest things on Earth, add some regulation, and make it even freer through mandate. Awesome!" elrond

The government is not the entity wanting to regulate "the freest thing on Earth" you stupid dumbshit.

Let's make something clear - America is already net neutral. You're not paying extra for "the platinum plan" that allows unfettered access to the net. You're now either paying for access to the whole fucking thing or you're not. One or the other.

The government is not asking to regulate access. Corporations want to establish different levels of access and speed and charge you for them. Get that? Corporations, not government, want to regulate access and speed. Government is being asked to allow or not allow corporate interests to do so.

Why is this so fucking hard for you, elrond?

Here's what elrond is proposing - he's saying that if you oppose net neutrality, then you oppose government regulation that would NOT permit corporate interests to charge you MORE for access and speed. He WANTS corporate interests to have the freedom to regulate "freest things on Earth" and "add some regulation".

He supports it. He's fine with "The Copper Plan" (for $9.99), "The Bronze Plan" (for $29.99), the Silver Plan (for $49.99), the Gold Plan (for $89.99) and the Platinum Plan (for $109.99)...each one offering more and better access to the internet. In fact, he thinks that government intervention, which would NOT allow such differentiation, IS A BAD IDEA.

elrond supports the effort to charge you more and more for internet access. He DOES NOT support efforts to regulate it.

We're already net neutral but elrond wants to change that. He wants to raise your bill. He wants to allow communications companies to be able to force you to pay more for the one of "freest things on Earth".

Got that? Rhetorical question because of course you don't, you stupid cows.

Why do I even try?

So what?

I'd rather have that than the government regulating it, that's for damn sure.

Besides not everyone gets their INTERNET access through Verizon and Google, Guttersnipe, there are a whole host of providers so your whole argument about "corporations" owning everything is just another Everclear-fueled howling rant produced by power-slamming your head up your ass. My access is through the local cable company which is not some mega-corporation. Many others have similar access.

It helps if you have a clue about what the hell your howling about like a mad dog, Guttersnipe. Just once trying doing a little research and coming up with a coherent argument; power-slamming your head up your ass to produce one is a pathetic and worthless substitute but one you seem hell bent to continue to try to use.

Those wanting to get their hands on the internet are Verizon, Google, etc.

If you can't understand this, then you're a fucking idiot. You're all fucking idiots.

The government, as we speak, is protecting you from being charged more for internet access.

The government's stance, as it has been since the internet came into being, is that those paying for it get access to THE WHOLE THING. Not just bits and pieces.

It's truly unbelievable how you stupid, moronic dumbasses can turn shit around to make it a GOOD thing to be assfucked by whatever corporate entity stands willing. It's a fucking phenomena. A stupid-I-love-to-be-ratfucked o-rama.

While I think the language is beyond ridiculous on both sides, one thing that trog does have correct is his summation of the current state of net neutrality.

Think whatever you want about each other, but one fact is indisputable and that is that if the net neutrality rules are quashed by the millions internet giants are spending on lobbying congress, you will see your internet speed bottlenecked and throttled and you will see your search engines monitored and sites removed by companies like Google.

This is one instance where you want the FCC to regulate broadband. Unfortunately all the stalling has resulted in one big mess.
