"Nancy Pelosi's foolish shuttle diplomacy"
Every once in awhile, the Washington Post (unlike the New York Times) will actually leave the liberal reservation and arrive at some semblance of common sense. My guess is this is due to the influence of Donald Graham who actually spent some time in the real world walking a beat as a regular police officer for over a year in stark contrast to Pinch Sulzberger who spent an overprivileged lifetime of being cradled by the NY Times company. In any event, today's EDITORIAL about Nancy Pelosi's free lance diplomacy is devasting in its appraisal of Madame Speaker's Middle East blunders. As you can imagine the POsties were quite angry in their REACTION to this editorial titled, "Pratfall in Damascus: Nancy Pelosi's foolish shuttle diplomacy." So let us now watch the POsties react angrily to a rare moment of Washington Post honesty in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, expecting Pelosi to get a hero's welcome by most of the MSM when she returns to the USA despite making a complete fool of herself, is in the [brackets]:
Pratfall in Damascus: Nancy Pelosi's foolish shuttle diplomacy
[Don't worry, Nancy. Most of the rest of the MSM will hail your incredible diplomatic pratfalls.]
HOUSE SPEAKER Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) offered an excellent demonstration yesterday of why members of Congress should not attempt to supplant the secretary of state when traveling abroad. After a meeting with Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad in Damascus, Ms. Pelosi announced that she had delivered a message from Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that "Israel was ready to engage in peace talks" with Syria. What's more, she added, Mr. Assad was ready to "resume the peace process" as well. Having announced this seeming diplomatic breakthrough, Ms. Pelosi suggested that her Kissingerian shuttle diplomacy was just getting started. "We expressed our interest in using our good offices in promoting peace between Israel and Syria," she said.
[Delivering a "message" that was never given as we shall see.]
Only one problem: The Israeli prime minister entrusted Ms. Pelosi with no such message. "What was communicated to the U.S. House Speaker does not contain any change in the policies of Israel," said a statement quickly issued by the prime minister's office. In fact, Mr. Olmert told Ms. Pelosi that "a number of Senate and House members who recently visited Damascus received the impression that despite the declarations of Bashar Assad, there is no change in the position of his country regarding a possible peace process with Israel." In other words, Ms. Pelosi not only misrepresented Israel's position but was virtually alone in failing to discern that Mr. Assad's words were mere propaganda.
[In other words, Ms. Pelosi is an IDIOT.]
Ms. Pelosi was criticized by President Bush for visiting Damascus at a time when the administration -- rightly or wrongly -- has frozen high-level contacts with Syria. Mr. Bush said that thanks to the speaker's freelancing Mr. Assad was getting mixed messages from the United States. Ms. Pelosi responded by pointing out that Republican congressmen had visited Syria without drawing presidential censure. That's true enough -- but those other congressmen didn't try to introduce a new U.S. diplomatic initiative in the Middle East. "We came in friendship, hope, and determined that the road to Damascus is a road to peace," Ms. Pelosi grandly declared.
[Ms Pelosi was blinded by her own ego on the road to Damascus.]
Never mind that that statement is ludicrous: As any diplomat with knowledge of the region could have told Ms. Pelosi, Mr. Assad is a corrupt thug whose overriding priority at the moment is not peace with Israel but heading off U.N. charges that he orchestrated the murder of former Lebanese prime minister Rafiq al-Hariri. The really striking development here is the attempt by a Democratic congressional leader to substitute her own foreign policy for that of a sitting Republican president. Two weeks ago Ms. Pelosi rammed legislation through the House of Representatives that would strip Mr. Bush of his authority as commander in chief to manage troop movements in Iraq. Now she is attempting to introduce a new Middle East policy that directly conflicts with that of the president. We have found much to criticize in Mr. Bush's military strategy and regional diplomacy. But Ms. Pelosi's attempt to establish a shadow presidency is not only counterproductive, it is foolish.
[This was the Washington Post version of doing a Mr. T in regards to Nancy Pelosi: "Shut up, FOOL!!!" And now on to the angry POstie reaction...]
At least she picked up a nice carpet down at the souk.
[Too bad her failed shuttle diplomacy really souked.]
In all likelihood, the jews lied to Pelosi. Jew duplicity is the real problem and has been forever, not Speaker Pelosi. Her real mistake was believing the jews. As for supplanting Rice, I have seen no evidence of shopping sprees on the part of Pelosi. As Secretary of State, Rice has been a lame duck all the way. Her only accomplishment has been to maybe convince Olmert and Abu Masen that they need to do lunch periodically. Rice being Rice, she surely would have recommended an excellent Parisian bistro. Pelosi should continue with any ME initiative she chooses because she will be successful while Bush and co. whittle away the remainder of this administration.
[Bella Pelosi as the innocent victim of an Elders of Zion plot.]
Say Israel, not Jews. Not all Jews support Israels actions.
[Actually the new codeword is "neocons."]
I think Nancy is doing great job and a single world of peace and better understanding then 1 million word of Necon and Rices tough talk . Shame on you in missing the brighter point of Ms. Pelosis visit.
[Good for you. You used the secret "neocon" codeword.]
For some vague reason I have more faith in Congresswoman Pelosi than I have in the editorial board of the Washington Post. Maybe because it is an organ of the Jerusalem Post, or appears to be. Pimping for the disastrous Bush administration for the last six years does very little for your credibility.
[I have more faith in what Olmert said, namely that he NEVER gave any "peace" message to Pelosi.]
Olmert was submarining Pelosi, most definitely on purpose, and most definitely at the direction of Bushs brain and its AIPAC funding source. It is getting more and more difficult to put anything past these people. I trust none of the several Republican visitors to Syria over the last few days had any such prafalls. What a crock.
[No normal guy would ever want to "submarine" Nancy Pelosi.]
The only thing this editorial proves is that Olmert backed down and trashed Nancy Pelosi after he deceitfully welcomed her visit and her intervention. I think we ALL know whose word can not be trusted now.
[Remember to always use the codeword "neocons."]
How low class and cowardly for the Post to refer to President Assad as a thug.
[Actually they called him a corrupt thug but murdering thug would have been just as accurate.]
The gist of the WP editorial about Ms Pelosis visit to Damascus is that she showed a willingness to do what a President cowed by a bunch of chickenhawk/neocons did not do and that is act as the statesman and leader of a major if not the major military power. By calling Ms. Pelosi foolish the WP has reached the nadir of what it is becoming....a political national enquirer or a neocon mouthpiece. In either case a disgraceful and insulting editorial
[Good. Good. You carefully stuck with the "neocon" codeword.]
Wow!!! This coming from the Washington Post?? Maybe I need LASIK!!!!????
[FUn Fact: A cousin of PJ-Comix is one of the top LASIK surgeons in the world.]
go nancy. she sure does have all the bushie bully boys in a tizzy...
[Along with the rest of the country.]
The discrimination and lack of respect for women in your article is transparent and should make any newspaper cringe with embarassment.
[YAWN! The usual charge of sexism has just reared its dopey head.]
Please respect women as we respect the world.
[Like they do in Iran?]
WaPo prints one critical editorial about Pelosi amid 1000*s of far-left liberal hate-mongering articles, and you people go ballistic!
[It drives them NUts to see any diversity of opinion at all.]
Nancy Pelosi is filling a vacuum created by the Bush administration.
[Nancy is filling a vacuum by emptying out her mind.]
WOW! The Post has confirmed what many of us have thoguht while watching and observing pelosi on various talk shows. She aint real bright! She is in way over her head and the sad thing is that she doesnt even know it!
[Watch the Pelosi DUhhhhmmie Show daily.]
Pelosi is intoxicated with her new power but doesnt have the intellectual candlepower to match.
[That's because she is a DUhhhhhmmie.]
Also, one thing Pelosi has always prided herself on is looking tres attractive. That head scarf was a fashion disaster, notwithstanding its symbolic enslavement of women.
[Is that you, Mr. Blackwell?]
Have you ever been at the beach and seen a really hot looking chick? Most likely all you will end up doing is just stare at her, drooling like an idiot. If you try to talk to her you will probably embarrass yourself with your clumsy pickup lines. Well, GOOD NEWS! I now have a product guaranteed to make it EASY to pick up lots of hot looking women at the beach. It is a product I have been using myself and fully endorse: the amazing HELICOPTER KITE. This helicopter kite flies like a helicopter. You can make it go hundreds of feet into the air or hover it just a couple of feet off the ground. The propellor rotation is done entirely by windpower. So how does this help you pick up chicks? Simple. Just hover this helicopter kite a few feet off the ground near the hot beach chick of your choice. In most cases they will be overcome with curiosity and come over to YOU to ask about it. I've run a little experiment on this and it works on about 75% of the women (catch and release in my case since I'm married). My advice is to keep the conversation initially focused on the helicopter kite until you can later make a sneaky segue into asking her out for dinner. From that point on, you're on your own. Please check out the VIDEO of the INCREDIBLE helicopter kite. Not only was the helicopter kite aerodynamically designed but it is also MADE IN THE USA! So feel good about purchasing an AMERICAN MADE toy which makes the perfect method for vastly enhancing your social life. The helicopter kites have a LIFETIME warranty so all defective or broken parts will be replaced. Your purchase of the helicopter kite will not only provide you with lots of hot dates but it will also help keep the DUmmie FUnnies going. So take a look at the VIDEO and be AMAZED! Remember, those hot beach chicks are waiting!
p.s. Check out what one of our happy customers had to SAY about the amazing helicopter kite.

Looks like even the WaPo believes that the "Most Powerful Woman in America" has put her foot in her mouth again. She really thinks that she is the President and has the right to dictate foreign and domestic policy and supplant executive authority. That woman is down right crazy.
Hay Nancy, you are not President, so sit down and shut up!
It never ceases to amaze me how dimmish-bulb people who manage to get elected to Congress seem to assume that makes them towering intellects.
I don't like women but I'd enthusiastically share my love to the intrepid, brilliant and uber-evolved Speaker!
TP, for the love of (my) God, PLEASE where a condom!
or "wear" a condom... Whichever is easier. :)
