The DUmmies are in a state of DESPAIR. Obama, forced by the big change in Congress, now has to PRETEND to want to bring down the out of control deficit. Of course, Obama is just going through the motions of being a deficit hawk since until the election, he showed no inclination at all of worrying a bit about the deficit. However, Obama's deficit pretense is enough to send the DUmmies into a state of despair as you can see in this THREAD, "Why is a Democratic President screwing us?" So let us now laugh at DUmmies thinking they are getting screwed by Obama in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, noting that The One blew almost a trillion bucks on a stimulus that failed to stimulate, is in the [barackets]:Why is a Democratic President screwing us?

I have both praised and criticized Obama in the past. However, the budget that he presented this week could have been one presented by a “partially sane” Republican, (if such a thing as a “partially sane” Republican still existed.)

I am a die-hard Democrat and I can’t stomach Obama’s budget. He has given away things that Democrats are supposed to believe in. And he's done it before any negotiations have even begun.

A Dem Prez putting out a budget that cuts heating aid for the poor, given today's economy, is not something that any normal person would define as something to "...slow down the nasty stuff a bit."

The Troglaman Clones/Moonbats really are brain-dead.
This "budget" The Obamassiah put forward has the same intent as when local government entities say that their citizens have to vote to screw themselves with higher taxes or they will do draconian cuts on public safety. This is just grandstanding and posturing. If the GOP has ANY guts it will toss it back in his face and produce a budget that really works...one that spends less than $1 trillion. Force The Obamassiah to defend relentless unsustainable defict spending plans and his DSA minions to do the same.
Obama proposes a budget that spends $3.74 TRILLION and the DUmmies bitch that he's not spending enough. Godddam, it includes a $1.5 trillion deficit but they think he should spend even more. The DUmmies aren't deluded, they're insane.
These freaks are like heroin addicts. It isn't the substance or the dose, it's the expectation of progressively higher doses, onward and upward into collectivist oblivion.
Elrond, you and Kirk are right. It is insane. What Kirk describes is also what's rendered unions more of a problem than an aid for workers and why so many jobs have been driven overseas. Unions keep demanding increases every time a new contract comes up and that simply isn't realistic. As a result, their jobs have vanished in many industries. The same thing will happen with our economy as a whole despite the fantasy land viewpoint of the Troglaman Clones/Moonbats who keep thinking we need the government to spend like mad fiends rather than take steps to encourage private sector growth.
Also, beginning when Reagan was in office, Liberal/Moonbat spending items were beginning to get defunded. What we are seeing now are those items being given a massive boost. We are also seeing the effort to remove people from being slaves to the government being reversed as well. Neither of these is good for the country. The only ones who think it is have the same "thought" process as Troglaman.
The desperation is palpable.

How is it that the left generally loathes Obama for bursting all of the fairy tale dreams and being the biggest disappointment in history ... and the right loathes the guy for being even more incompetent and socialist than our worst expectations ...
... and yet he's going to be re-elected.

It's also worth noting just how similar he now is to GW Bush - in both policy and public perception. He's like a mirror image of his predecessor.
Or is it that its just no longer possible for any leader to create any sort of unity? Has politics gotten so polarized that every President will be seen as horribly polarizing?

All I know is nobody like him, but I'd say odds are 5 to 1 that he serves a full 2 terms.

Only a liberal could conceive spending 103% of their entire salary every year, plus spending an additional 1/2 again as much as they earn a year equates to fiscal responsibility or sanity.
Andrew Sullivan has called this budget a "steaming pile of fiscal bullshit", Lord help me but I've agreed with something Sullivan says.
Liberals along with the progressive agenda are dangerous to the future stability of this nation. If this budget doesn't prove it, liberals screaming Obama isn't spending enough should.
