DUmmies Deeply Saddened By No "Public Option" Health Plan

Just as I predicted, Team Obama is being forced to offer pretty much nothing but a Happy Face Feel Good health plan to Congress devoid of "public option" aka "single payer" aka "government run" aka "socialized medicine." Why? Not that they wouldn't love such an expensive program. It's just, as Barack Obama himself has said, they are OUT of money. Plus the Chinese who own a major portion of our debt read the riot act to Timothy Geithner when he was in Peking and ordered him NOT to make the dollar even more worthless by incurring even more wasteful spending programs like socialized medicine. And for this we have to thank Obama's expensive Porkopulous program which did absolutely NOTHING to help the economy as was promised. And now NOTHING left to spend. So goodbye "public option" health plan. And, of course the DUmmies are agonizing over this painful fact as you can see in this THREAD, "So... No Single Payer... No Public Option..." That's right, DUmmies. No NOTHING! All you will get is basically "RESOLVED: Adequate Health Care is a good thing." So let us now watch the DUmmies mourn the loss of their beloved "public option" in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, laughing at the irony of Porkopulous killing off Big Government spending programs, is in the [barackets]:

So... No Single Payer... No Public Option...

[Enjoy your Obama breakfast---Egg McNuthin'.]

Can someone please tell me what the hell is happening here? Where is the real reform? Am I just missing it?

[It disappeared when Porkopulous burned up all the money. And now to the rest of the disappointed DUmmies...]

The Audacity of Nope. Coupled with The Fierce Urgency of Whenever.

[LOL!!! "The Audacity of Nope." Will definitely be stealing that line.]

Obama played his part in making sure the public option had no teeth

[He tied his own hands with Porkopulous.]

Washington is happening. Specifically, the Senate is happening. And the Senate is a truly ridiculous holdover from an 18th century compromise that has only grown increasingly broken with time.

[What happened to that "love" for the Constitution that the DUmmies pretend to have?]

No single payer, but at the end of the day, youll probably get a "public option". Emphasis on option, whatever that means. Co-ops, exchanges, watered down medicare with conditional enrollment

["RESOLVED: Adequate Health Care is a good thing."]

Rahm Emmanuel may have some inside info. I could be wrong.

[And that inside info was that Porkopulous did NOTHING but burn up money and kill off any future big spending plans.]

My hope balloon is leaking air real fast

[SSSSSSSSSSssssssssssssssssss.....]

If Obama settles for some watered-down piece of crap, then we'll have gotten his message.

[The Audacity of Nope.]

If the Dummies are so enamored of Single Payer health care, they can emigrate to Canada or onceGreat Britain. That way, when they really need quality health care for any serious condition, they can always come to the United States to receive their health care in a timely manner.

I, for one, will not rest easy until Socialist Health Care's head is cut off, the mouth is stuffed full of garlic and numerous stakes are pounded through it's heart.

If DopeyChangey wants to show me something, let him start with medicaid, medicare and the other disastrous government forays into health care.

Fix that stuff Odumbo, and Social Security, Housing and Urban Development, Energy, Education and the Post Office. Then maybe we'll consider a shot at latter day HillaryCare.

The Fed's record on EVERYTHING (except Defense as run by the Pentagon), is a disaster.

No wonder the sane American public doesn't want anything to do with it!

Why do you want insurance companies running the show? Why? These CEO's are bragging about their 20 million dollar bonuses (per year) and you're satisfied?

Once again, your all's capacity to take it up the ass and beg for more is mystifying.

Troggy, crawl back to your mommy's basement until you do some research on how insurance companies (particularly health insurance) work. In answer to your question: Hell, yes, I much rather have a bunch of competing insurance companies running the show than some government bureaucracy. The thought of our health care system being run with the efficiency and compassion of, say, DMV or DeptHumSvcs is most depressing.

I have to agree with Anon 10:03.

If I have to pick between competing insurance companies and a NHC like Britain's it would be no contest.

If they want to give me BASIC insurance while unemployed, that is another matter.

Of course that means welfare queens and kings would probably have little incentive to get off their asses and find work.

That's what's going on now. The fact that you're happy with it is just one more product-endorsement for KY.

"Hell yes" he/she says!

Ray wimped out when I asked him how much he's paying a month for health insurance. He'd been bragging about how his coverage took care of a recent (I think) surgery blah blah blah. I, troglaman, asked him but he never said how much he pays for the privilege. My guess is he doesn't pay shit. He's a closet socialist.

The rest of you should've covered your little wimpy friend's back. But you didn't. You should've told me you were so so happy to be paying $700 a month to add your wife to your work plan.

Tell the truth for once assholes. Are you happy with what you're paying for insurance?

Yes, Shambhala, I often wonder why the trogster comes here to comment. He has all those liberal websites where he could spout his vitriol all night and day, till his little bitter heart is content. But, then, he'd only be one nut in a bagful of nuts, so he wouldn't stand out. You know with the trogster it's always about "me, me, me". I guess he thinks he can come here and impress us with his gentle prose, his niceties, his brilliance, and we'll just fall in line behind his socialist self. In reality, he has a snowball's chance in hell of convincing any of us. He comes here, calls us names, uses the most disgusting language, talks down to us, and with his logic this will make us want to bend over for him. Yeah, right. Works for me, I like being abused. Yeah, right.

Trog, you need to ask why insurance premiums are so high. One reason is that Congress and the several States has stuck their nose in the insurance business and mandated that the insurance companies offer certain coverages. If there were enough of a demand for a certain coverage, and the state insurance commissions allowed the insurance companies to set their rates so that the companies could make a profit, then that coverage would be offered without any coercion by the government. Anytime government sticks their well-meaning noses into the business sector, it distorts the market.
Again, do you want your health services provided by the same folks who brought you DMV or Welfare? Such compassion! Such efficiency.
You are either totally ignorant about economics and insurance or a total dipshit... or ignorant and a dipshit.

What's wrong with the DMV or Welfare? Are you saying there's too much bureaucracy and paperwork? And there's never ever ever bureaucracy and paperwork involved with insurance companies? Right? You're seriously making this argument, dumbshit? That insurance companies are a walk in the park compared to the DMV?

You're a deluded nutbag.

"You're a deluded nutbag."

Nope, I'm an actuary.

You, however, are an ignorant dumbass with opinions on subjects about which you know nothing.
Yes, insurance companies have paperwork and bureaucracy. The amount of each are much less than any government agency regulating or providing a good or service.
The insurance companies have to make a profit, so they have to keep their overhead to a minimum. The government never has and never will make a profit, so they have no incentive to minimize expenses. If the government can't break even, they will just extort more money from the people in the form of taxes. Insurance is the most heavily regulated industry in the U.S. They cannot arbitrarily raise rates, but have to get approval from the insurance commissions of the various states. To get that approval is a long process with more paperwork than you ever had to fill out for an insurance claim. Before you opine again on this subject, it might behoove you to contact your state's insurance commission and find out how insurance actually works.
From the nature of your many posts at this blog, you have demonstrated that you are indeed an ignorant dipshit.

"The amount of each are much less than any government agency regulating or providing a good or service." fucking actuary anon

This is pure bullshit. You're not an actuary you fucking cucumber.

Compare medicare costs with insurance costs. Start there. The DMV argument is a strawman. Private interests have never run the DMV, except for licensing. There's no point of comparison.

There are, however, numerous examples of privatization that have proven to be less efficient and more greedy...take incarceration for example. The prison industry is doing quite well. And we have more in prison now than any other country on earth. Prisons have become an industry. As has health care.

Insurance. Banking. Health Care. School lunches. School Testing. The food industry. Mining. Power grid. The stuff that's gone to shit has been placed in the hands of private, unregulated industry which gives you guys a real big 'Back Door Man' kind of hard-on, I know. Can you say "fuck me" and remain proud? Yes you can!

God's not going to sort you motherfuckers out. Evolution is. Only a matter of time.

"Compare Medicare costs with insurance costs..." Yes, let's do. Medicare is bankrupt. The only reason it is still in existance is that the government subsidizes the program with money extorted from the taxpayers. Neither Social Security, nor Medicare were ever actuarily sound, not even from the beginning. The costs of treatment under medicare are no lower than under an insurance policy or self-pay. The old saying "there ain't no such thing as a free lunch" is absolutely true. Someone has to pay for the good or service, whether it is the person directly receiving the good or service, or the taxpayer.
If costs under Medicare are lower, Trog, why are so many doctors and clinics no longer taking Medicare patients? It is not because treating Medicare patients is cheaper, it is because the government bureaucracy will only pay so much for a procedure. The amount sent to the doctor/clinic comes nowhere near paying for the actual cost of the treatment.
Once again, Troggy, you have no idea what you are talking about, but you won't let that get in the way of your opinion. Do some research. Ask why Canadians come to the U.S. for timely treatment when they have such wonderful "free" medical care in Canada. Ask why Britons, if they have the wherewithal will seek treatment for serious conditions in the U.S. or India rather than in the U.K. Healthcare in those two countries are rationed because healthcare is "free".
Which would you rather, Trog: an MRI you have to pay for for suspected condition in less than a week, or a "free" MRI in a few months? Cancer treatment you pay for now, or "free" cancer treatment 3 or 6 months from now?
BTW, Troggy, watching Michael Moore's "Sicko" does not count as research into healthcare systems and costs.
And, asshole, yes I am an actuary. Got the degree and everything. What do you have ... besides an uninformed opinion?

"Medicare is bankrupt. The only reason it is still in existance is that the government subsidizes the program with money extorted from the taxpayers." anon the impaler

Really? Last I, troglaman, heard Medicare was still paying. So it's not bankrupt, dumbshit. And the government doesn't "subsidize" Medicare, the government IS Medicare. So, like the VA, the government pays with taxes. That's been going on for decades. Social Security and all that.

The point is - compare what 'normal people' pay for health insurance with what Medicare pays. Both private insurance and Medicare are doing the same thing. They compete. And yet Medicare pays less. They get a better deal. Look it up.

So pick your poison, Vlad. If you want to keep taking it up the ass from the corporate insurance Beelzebubs, then fine. You're happy with the way things are.

I'm not. That makes me smarter than you.

The government does pay Social Security and Medicare---so far.

But there's a big express train called the Baby Boomers coming down the tracks. In the coming years something bad (i.e. insolvency) is going to happen unless services are cut or taxes are increased beyond reason (probably both). The feds, in their wisdom, have been ignoring these coming crises. Right now they're more interested in pork barrel "stimulous" packages.

But every Ponzi scheme eventually collapses, government Ponzis are no different, just worse.

"Right now they're more interested in pork barrel "stimulous" packages." smitty

Then why are you even talking about health-care if it's all about the stimulus package?

God. Dense Dense Dense. You fuckers are dense.

How about this? Let's say you pay an extra $750 a year in taxes instead of $750 a month for insurance. Could you live with that? Or would that somehow decay our American morale and make us all socialist pigs?

Why do you all want to pay more for less? Because you're all fucking crazy. That's why.

2:06 AM
Anonymous Smitty said...

Why do you all want to pay more for less?

I don't want to pay more for less, that's why I oppose this bloated pig of a government health care plan. That's why I oppose cap and trade and the criminal "stimulous" (read "pork") plan.

Social Security and Medicare are broken and there's not enough money that can be squeezed out of the taxpayers to fix them.

Get ready for the economic shit storm, it's coming.

This is good. Smitty's right.

Do you think NOT taking care of the boomers is somehow sublimely taking care of them?

You raise good questions, smitty. But you don't offer up anything that makes sense. Obama's right. The status-quo is not acceptable. There has to be an answer to this issue that must make sense. We HAVE to do this. One dollar in five is too much.

There has not been one alternative from you jokers. Not one, other than not doing shit (which you slimeball lemmings are real good at).

Single-payer, my friends. It's cheaper. It's simpler. Your mom is covered. Your aunt and uncle. Your kids. You may be taxed more, but your $700 per month insurance payment would drop to $750 per year. It's as simple as that. If everyone was taxed an extra $750 per year, we wouldn't be paying $700 per MONTH for health care.

Why is this so hard? Oh. I, troglaman, forget. You all love getting greased up. Drill baby drill.
