Joe Biden Puts Foot In Mouth Over Surge

The great thing about the Web is that we can easily RETRIEVE embarrassing information about the candidates. In this case, a video of Joe Biden loudly putting his foot in the mouth earlier this year about the "inevitable" failure of the Surge was posted on YouTube by none other than Joe Biden himself (JoeBidendotcom). This video was posted on YouTube on March 14 of this year so this bloviating Senate speech by Biden was made on or before then. Notice how the Democrats are now RELUCTANT to talk about Iraq? That is because the Surge has been an astounding military SUCCESS. Meanwhile watch Biden sneer in this video about how General Petraeus is probably the only person who thinks the Surge can be a success. Enjoy that taste of Foot-In-Mouth, senator. And thanx for providing us great Drama Queen entertainment!

What are you talking about?

Biden has been very consistent with his position that military success is not equal to overall success. He contends that we need POLITICAL success (3 state solution) in order to control the region and any military success without a political solution is only temporary.

Poor Anon # 1

Sadly, liberals are absolutely desperate that we lose in Iraq.

They cheered against us. They condemned the surge. And now that the surge is an unquestionable success, the latest meme is the "3 state" silliness.

They simply can't state the painfully obvious: they were wrong. It worked. And both the US and Iraq is safer, better, and more peaceful as a result.

They'd rather both Americans and Iraqis die than see Bush get anything right.

Its sad, and it would be painful to witness, were it not so obvious.

Try it, liberals. Go ahead. Just say it: "The surge worked. It was a victory."

It won't hurt. You can go back to the usual doom and gloom afterwards. But try telling the truth. Everyone sees it anyway.

Biden knows it, too, by the way. He bet against America for political gain. He lost. Oops.

For a moment there, I thought he was going to say that the mission was accomplished.
What an asshat.

Um, anon 8:46... it was a military surge, not a political surge. Besides, their Democracy has advanced far quicker than our own. By your (and Biden's) standards the results of the American Revolution have also been temporary.

He almost did. He listed all our accomplished goals, and then said, "so technically, this mission... [eyes go blank for two seconds as the hamster wheel spins] is without legal authority." Ooo, close call!

Binden sure stepped in it , didn't he? The surge is working, the troops are starting to be drawn down, the civil war never happened, and political progress is being made there faster than we can make it here at home. How's THAT for policy!

I love how Binden keeps sticking his foot in his mouth every time he opens it. For example, he claimed that "I was in... the Balkans! How did we solve that? We solved that by separating the parties!" Well Binden, and left wing trolls, the UN and NATO still has "peace keepers" stationed there after 8 years of a "separated party" policy. The "transitional" government is STILL under the control of the UN and the "parties" have yet to reconcile their differences. The region threatens to boil over into another civil war, the only thing preventing that is our troops. There is no UN "exit strategy" for the Balkans. So, where's Binden's "solution?" It doesn't exist. Mr Binden, bring our troops home from the Balkans or shut up! The choice is yours to make.

The thing I think is funny, is that the DEMS and the left harp on about having to have a political solution, and yet, most of the politicals I saw in Baghdad, in the Greenzone, were all Dems, career politicos from the Clenton admin.

Know wonder the political scene is so fuqued up.

Right you are my brother. This is D-Day, Iwo Jima, Gettysburg, and the entire war of 1812 wrapped up into one, neat package: The Surge.

Personally, I can't wait until commemorative coins come out. And the parades welcoming home all the returning Surge Victors. What a thrill.
