Tom Vilsack Campaign Website About To Purge Contrary Thought

As you might remember, I presented a Christmas gift to Governor Tom Vilsack in the form of a DUmmie FUnnies ENDORSEMENT on December 25. Basically, I stated that even though I oppose almost all of Vilsack's political positions, I still endorse him for the Democrat nomination. I even presented a method in which Vilsack could quickly gain public attention in the form of him wearing the Pooh Bear, as seen above, during his public speeches. The result of such an action would mean that Vilsack's largely ignored speeches would be instantly uploaded to YouTube and viewed by millions thus getting his name known. So why would I be so good to someone with whom I disagree politically. Simple. The Democrats are going to nominate somebody for President in '08 so it might as well be somebody that the DUmmie FUnnies gets credited for helping. Good for Vilsack. Good for the DUmmie FUnnies. Win/Win.

I posted these ideas on the Tom Vilsack '08 campaign website COMMENTARY SECTION. There was some interesting back and forth between your humble correspondent and the True Believers of the Vilsack camp. Unfortunately, it now looks like much of the scintillating and entertaining commentary is about to be purged by the zealous Vilsack campaign people. Perphaps they think they are helping their candidate but the fact of the matter is I think my comments actually spiced up the commentary section and kept it from becoming a boring cheerleading section in which Vilsack can do no wrong. Therefore, this edition of the DUmmie FUnnies will dispense with its usual format and present to you below the commentary of the Vilsack Campaign Website so it can preserved for all eternity before the Big Purge takes full effect. So break out the popcorn and enjoy the entertainment below, folks...

I am also urging Governor Vilsack and his campaign to do a live interview and take some calls on my Internet talk show at http://www.talkshoe.com in 2007 sometime.

Like the poster before me, and like you said in your message Governor, we ALL need to be creative and get the message out there.

Yes, money buys the ad space and the travels across the nation to take your case to the American people, but creativity is what wins the hearts and minds of the voters. To have creativity is to have a vision.

I am reminded by a story from the 1948 campaign when President Truman’s campaign train stopped in the middle of nowhere because the leaders of the Democratic Party did not want to throw their money away on a “hopeless quest.”

President Truman went to the passenger car and told the people that he didn’t care whether they voted for Harry Truman or not. That was not the issue. The issue was that the president could take his case to the people and let the people make a decision.

So, what the president did was he passed his hat and raised the funds through private cash donations to get the train moving again.

When the hat was being passed, Press Secretary Charlie Ross said to the president that Roosevelt never had to beg like that, and that prompted President Truman to say that Roosevelt was a great man. I would only add that that is the kind of story that Americans need to know about the men that we put up in the Democratic Party.

Harry Truman and Tom Vilsack were and are no better than you or I. They are men just like us. The difference is that Truman and Vilsack had and have the courage to stand up, despite the odds for what they believe in to take their case to the American people so that we can make a chouce.

I should write this as a letter to the editor in my hometown newspaper.

So to close, go get ‘em Tom and give ‘em hell.

I just recommended that the Idaho readers of the current EDITION of the DUmmie FUnnies (which endorsed Tom Vilsack) to show up at the governor’s speech later today in Ketchum, Idaho. If Governor Vilsack takes our advice to “Wear the Bear” he will definitely be heard above the herd.

I hope that the usual bloggers, and people coming for the first time will give the campaign the resources it needs to get the message out to the American people.

If we all donated $10.00, it would be a great gift to the American people. While I have all the respect in the world for the men and women running for president this time around, Tom Vilsack is the only candidate that has a vision for our future and he has the executive experience to make it happen.

Let’s make 2008’s presidential campaign an American story. Let’s ignore the pundits and the know it all know nothings on the Sunday morning talk shows and elect something new and fresh for America. Let’s elect Governor Tom Vilsack in our repective primaries. Let’s nominate Governor Tom Vilsack at the Democratic National Convention in Denver in the summer of 2008. Let’s elect Governor Tom VIlsack our 44th president that November too.

It will happen, but we all need to support the campaign both creatively and financially.

Some ways to do that are to give up an exspensive vice that you may have. If you smoke for example, the belief that you have for a Vilsack presidency could be enough to take your money and give it to the campaign rather than smoking it away.

Instead of going to the bars everyweekend and spending huge sums of money on beer and other drinks, you could go to the bar twice a month and use the money you would have spent on the campaign if you believe in the cause. Investing in the future is much more rewarding than drinking your means away.

You can give up other things like lunch everyday at work by packing a lunch rather than buying. It all adds up,

These are just some ways to get donations to the campaign. In the end, we, the people will win because we are right and the “exports” are wrong.

Thank you and happy new year.

GO TOM, GO!!!

I had never heard of Tom Vilsack before today, when I happened to hear some of an interview with him on television. It touched me in a real way.For years I have been writing to my representatives expressing my concerns about finding a new American way that recognizes we can only be secure if we live in a way in which we are able to responsibly supply our needs without abusing our country or any other country. I believe it is Sweden which made a commitment to be completely free of dependence on foreign oil within 15 years and they are making impressive progress. I asked my representatives why we could not send a committee to see what they are doing over there. We are not a stupid country. We could do that. We need to do that. Today I heard Mr. Vilsack say that he wasn’t sure that the answer to our oil needs lay in the arena of new drilling in gulf, Anwar, etc. HE GETS IT!!! The answer must be new. We have the minds. We have the technological ability. I even suggested a national contest, much like American Idol, where we call on the brilliant minds of this country to compete while sharing new and sane ways to power our country, awarding something huge to the winner. Such a contest could literally change this country forever. I have so much faith in our possibilities. Special interests must no longer dictate the paradigms of our legislators. I once wrote a letter to the White House, saying that if the Bush family owned patents to solar panels, we would not be at war. Well, anyway, I like how he (Tom) thinks. I felt he was truthful-probably not yet famous enough to be overthinking and pre-thinking and spinning everything. I pray he stays that way. We need leadership at all levels that can see the truth clearly. We must learn once again how to consider what is good for the whole country long term. We must lose our arrogance, an attitude that the current administration has enhanced so much that most of the world sees is, all of us, as arrogant. We can be clear, and sensible, and realistic and right WITHOUT being arrogant. I have never written into a site like this and have no idea who might read it, but thanks for a place to vent.

No word at all in the press about Governor Vilsack’s appearance in Ketchum and almost no buzz at all about his appearance on Fox. So far it looks like Vilsack’s message is getting lost in the ether. Again, my recommendation is for Governor Vilsack to WEAR THE BEAR.

Here in Florida, Lawton Chiles was an almost completely unknown state legislator when he decided to walk around the state. At first he was derided for his “publicity stunt” but soon he gained a lot of attention for it and Walkin’ Lawton was elected U.S. Senator as a result.

Governor Vilsack should find some marathons to run nationwide this year to get his name out there. Here in Akron, Ohio every October, there is a Road Runner Marathon. If Governor Vilsack would do some of these things and talk to the runners and the reproters on the run, he could get some exposure that way too. Heck, if the governor did the Akron Road Runner Marathon, I would get in shape to be on his team.

Also, I was wondering what everyone thought about starting a group on the Internet and Nationwide. It would prove something great at the convention when we nominate the governor for president. Let’s call our group the #! Fans For Tom Vilsack Club. We get those buttons that the governor gave to Jon Stewart on the Daily Show and get shirts to distinguish us from other Vilsack Supporters. We can show Howard Dean and others that it is time for a real American to be president, not a name brand or a rock star.

Walking tours and marathons just won’t get Governor Vilsack the publicity he needs. My recommendation still stands. He must WEAR THE BEAR. If Governor Vilsack does this I guarantee any speech he gives (wearing the bear) will be watched MANY times on YouTube. Otherwise his campaign will remain stuck in neutral.

Tom Vilsack is getting his name out and people all over America are already responding. When the debates start and all candidates are side by side on center stage, only one will be head and shoulders above all others. Tom Vilsack is that guy. He will out work, out campaign, and present concrete ideas on how to turn America around and move us forward. Fellow Vilsack supporters, we are not 2 months into this campaign and look what Tom has already done. Do not worry Tom Vilsack has never lost an election and he won’t lose this one. Stay faithful and keep campaigning we have alot of work to do over the next 2 years.

Taking America by storm when almost all the political news about the presidential candidates is about Obama, Hillary, and Edwards? Sorry to point out the cold cruel facts to you but Tom Vilsack needs to do something to attract attention. I admit (which I did on my blog) that I disagree with Governor Vilsack on almost everything but I honestly want him to do well in the presidential primaries for the reasons I specified in my DUmmie FUnnies BLOG. Maybe it takes someone like me to point out the problems of the Vilsack campaign at this point rather than someone so enamored of the governor’s message that he can’t face the reality of the campaign situation.

Of course all the talk is about Hillary, Obama and Edwards, right wingnuts like druggie limbaugh and Bill O’lier keep putting them out there. The reason is simple, the wingnuts know that all three will be easy targets to knock off in the general election. They fear a guy like Tom Vilsack because he connects with middle class America and he can beat anyone the GOP puts up against him. I have said once I will stay it again, Tom Vilsack is rising faster then anyone ever thought he could and the GOP fear him and they should fear him because he is a proven winner. Sorry Pj, Tom Vilsack doesn’t need someone like you to point put problems in his campaign because he does not have any problems to point out. But thanks for volunteering your service, I am sure if any problems arise Tom Vilsack will call you asap to help him.

“Of course all the talk is about Hillary, Obama and Edwards, right wingnuts like druggie limbaugh and Bill O’lier keep putting them out there.”

So all this Obama adulation is a result of Rush Limbaugh? And what alternate universe are you posting from, John?

“Tom Vilsack is rising faster then anyone ever thought he could and the GOP fear him and they should fear him because he is a proven winner.”

So far rising as fast as a buried rock.

“PJ, you sound more repetitive than Right-wing talking points.”

“Ok Peepj I understand your need for attention, being from a home were wingnut religion was preached but come on your blog is not worth a second look.”

Wrong assumption from the start, John. Both my parents were (and still are) liberal Democrats as I was until I went over to the “Dark Side.”

“You fear Tom Vilsack like all other wingnuts or you would not be putting so much effort into trying to get people to take there eyes off of our next President’s site and on yours.”

Fear Tom Vilsack? Don’t make me laugh. I did an informal poll of about 3 dozen people down here. NONE was familiar with the name, “Vilsack” except for one woman who thought I was referring to a jar of pickles.

“But thats ok peepj, I know you drink from the same water jug as your idle druggie limbaugh and take the same pills he takes we forgive you. By the way do have problems making tents like druggie limbaugh or do you use the sames drugs he does ? ”

The strongest drugs I take are caffeine (which I’m sipping now) and aspirin (which I will be popping in a few minutes). Oh wait! I used to be addicted to pistachio nuts but quit when I realized I was getting tired of paying off my pistachio dealer for my daily kilo baggie of Istanbul Reds.
