DUmmies DUmp on the "Commanded-in-Chief"
Present Obama has succeeded in doing something we didn't think could be done: He has united the country. Yes, both the Right and the Left now agree: We think the Bystander-in-Chief is doing a TERRIBLE job!
Afghanistan is the latest example. Mr. Dithers says he's going to send 30,000 troops to Afghanistan, to do some community organizing, and then he's going to pull them out within a year-and-a-half, i.e., by July 2011. The Right says, "How stupid is that? The general in charge says he needs 40-60,000 men to do the job. And, Rule #1 in fighting a war: You NEVER give the enemy a date for when you're pulling out!" But the Left listens to the same speech, and they say, "How stupid is that? You're sending more troops to fight a BushCo war? We didn't vote for that! Hell no, BHO!" See? We're united, just coming at it from different sides. Present Obama has managed to alienate EVERBODY!
Barack Baines Obama is off to a flying start at surpassing LBJ as the Worst President of My Lifetime. Lyndon Johnson gave us BOTH the Great Socialist Society AND the Vietnam Half-Fought War. Barry Lyndon wants to give us Mutual of Obama AND Afghanistnam.
So here's a small sampling of the rampant DUmmie Displeasure with Dear Leader, in this THREAD, "Wow!? Commanded in Chief' The Nation." The DUmmie DUmpings are in Bolshevik Red, while the commentary of your humble guest correspondent, Charles Henrickson, who sees 1968 coming early in Barry Lyndon's term, is in the [Barackets]:
Wow!? "Commanded in Chief" The Nation
[Where have you gone, Hope-and-Changey O? The Nation turns its loaded guns on you. Boom boom boom!]
"You may not think so, but on Tuesday night from the US Military Academy at West Point, in his first prime-time presidential address to the nation, Barack Obama surrendered. It may not have looked like that: there were no surrender documents; he wasn't on the deck of the USS Missouri; he never bowed his head. Still, from today on, think of him not as the commander-in-chief but as the commanded-in-chief."
[Hell to the Chief!]
"And give credit to the victors. Their campaign was nothing short of brilliant. Like the policy brigands they were, they ambushed the president. . . ."
[They am-Bushed him!]
"At a time when the continuing economic crisis is creating ever more hardship for the vast majority of Americans and placing ever greater demands on the federal budget, we need clearheaded leadership. . . . Sadly, in announcing his administration's decision to send 30,000 more American troops to Afghanistan on top of the 68,000 already there, President Obama has fallen short of this test of leadership."
[Left and Right agree: EPIC FAIL! . . . Enough from "The Nation." Now to DUmmieland . . .]
This is so passive/aggressive. He's the CiC FFS! Excuses, excuses.
[He's the Chamberlain-in-Chief, For Failure's Sake!]
I get the feeling that Obama is getting attacked from all sides and is no longer in control of the Administration.
[More than a feeling. Present Obama is the Bystander-in-Chief.]
His "Escalation Speech" was ineffective.
[Blame Hal the Teleprompter.]
And today his "Job's Summit" offered NOTHING! more phrases of "hope" and no articulate plan for creating jobs.
[Joe Biden: "And here I thought he was clean and articulate!"]
Approx. 3 hours devoted to a complete dog and pony show. Sickening.
[The Bark Obowwow Show.]
I do believe that the "healthcare summit" got off the same way and look what sort of garbage came out of that. . . .
[Mutual of Obama: Because we don't trust you to take care of yourself.]
I'm starting to sound bitter. . . .
[Let us know if you start clinging to guns and religion.]
High unemployment. Bailouts for bankers. More of the national treasure being funneled into Afghanistan. Health care "reform" that's a complete joke.
[IMPEACH OBAMA NOW!]
I am getting real bitter too. . . . It is f*cking hopeless.
[Canada beckons! Cuba is warmer!]
What would you do to create jobs immediately?
[Grief counselors for DUmmieland?]
Get those green jobs going, now!
[Get those grief jobs going, now!]
He did not do enough right away to separate him self from what Bush did.
[Meet the new Bush, same as the old Bush . . .]
We're in a mess. . . .
[Barry puts the "mess" in "Obamessiah"!]
McChrystal should have been courtmarshalled when he disrespected the Commander in Chief by calling for an increase in troops. Obama let himself be bullied by this man. What is wrong with him? I'm beginning to think he is becoming a puppet.
[Kermit the Fraud.]
I think he was a little too green to do battle with seasoned Beltway veterans.
[It's not easy being green.]
I hope he's got unplayed cards, because it's looking like he's totally f*cked.
[There's always the race card.]
I got a kick out of Cheney referring to O as "radical". . . .
[It's all part of the BushCo plan. Barry works for them, you know.]
I will never vote for Obama again.
[Promise?]
Sorry, but Obama made this bad decision on his own. People need to stop making excuses and realize that Obama is not some kind of super genius. He can make sh*t decisions.
[Yes, he can! In fact, I would say making sh*t decisions is Obama's métier.]
Obama was never ready for this job at this time.
[I thought he was shovel-ready.]
I am not sure he knows what he thinks.
[That's above his pay grade.]
We should have been more vigilant.
[IMPEACH *US* NOW!]
He can give a mighty fine speach, that's for sure...too bad they always come read from a teleprompter.
[Faint praise for Dear Reader.]
Hmm...
I spy a.......
[Me mi mum mole, I smell the blood of a . . . FREEPER TROLL!!!]
They all read from teleprompters. Would you like it better if he held a bunch of papers and read off of those? The thing that's important is who wrote the speech.
[Yeah, and in this case, it was his new head speechwriter. . . . Oh, what's his name again? . . . That's right! Grove. Kurt Grove.]
gates and the warmacht have used Obama as cover for more bushco neocon war. . . .
[The Gates of Halliburton shall not fail to prevail against him.]
our silver-tongued president is losing his cheer-leading charm. . . .
[Barack O-pom-pom is losing fans faster than Tiger Woods.]
The man is a corporate "Democrat©".
[BarackCo®. Brought to you by the Soros Group™.]

"Can't win for losing" seems to sum up Pres. Obama pretty well.
Maybe in 2013 he can help Jimmy Carter out with Habitat for Humanity, they seem to be kindred souls.
Kindred souls?
Shoot! They're clones!
Feckless, anti-semitic, dunderhead clones, now available in your choice of hues.
Take one home today! When you stand next to it, you always look better, smarter, and manlier.
"gates and the warmacht have used Obama as cover for more bushco neocon war"
Always have to blame someone else.
How absolutely naive and totally feckless this group of ding er huh moonbats is eh?
Hmm I suppose calling our brave men and women in the military the 'warmacht' is this jokers way of 'Supporting the Troops'
Besides, its spelled Wehrmacht you idiot!
We MUST be continuing in Afghanistan for the OIL, yeah that's it.. OIL! Oh wait.....
"Obama was never ready for this job as this time." The James Buchanan of the 21st century
"We whould have been more vigilent." You should have laid off the bong.
The DUmmies are becoming increasingly sullen, resentful and helpless. They wanted Hugo Chavez but got Jimmy Carter instead.
They're starting to realize that Obama is an empty suit without ideas, principles, scruples or gavitas (as Mario Cuomo would say). But, come 2012, they'll vote to re-elect him; even though we'll still be in Afghanistan and unemployment will still be around 10%.
"Barry Lyndon wants to give us Mutual of Obama AND Afghanistnam." PJinc
Mutual of Obama.
And you guys think I, troglaman, represent the madness of the reefer. Jesus. What's next, Mutual of Obama's African Wild Monkey Kingdom?
What do you mean by "AfghanistNAM" PJ? Are you saying the Afghan campaign is the equivalent of Nam? Hopeless? Because if that's what you're saying, then you have to remember this war started over 8 years ago. If it's stupid now, it was stupid then. It was stupid 6 years ago. It was stupid 4 years ago. It was stupid 2 years ago.
And now, all of a sudden, you all think it's stupid.
Know what? The left thought Viet Nam was stupid. The left thought Iraq was stupid. The left thinks Afghanistan is stupid. Us dirty fucking hippies have been right all along. And now, conveniently, you agree. Sure you do.
The problem is that you're a little late to the party.
You redneck dumbshits don't fool me. You'd love this black president to fuck up. You WANT him to.
Here's kat: "They wanted Hugo Chavez but got Jimmy Carter instead."
kat's statement has absolutely no basis in fact, and yet he/she believes it to be true. Is there any polling evidence that people voting for Obama REALLY were voting for Hugo Chavez or Jimmy Carter? No. Not one little tiny itty bit. And yet kat believes this to be true. As do the rest of you dimwits.
So are you all willing to admit you just make shit up yet? It's time to move on.
They're starting to realize that Obama is an empty suit without ideas, principles, scruples or gavitas (as Mario Cuomo would say).
Read back a few months; several DUmmies have been on to this for quite a while now. You've actually got to give them a bit more credit than that.
Know what? The left thought Viet Nam was stupid. The left thought Iraq was stupid. The left thinks Afghanistan is stupid. Us dirty fucking hippies have been right all along. And now, conveniently, you agree. Sure you do.
You do realize that you can count the number of Congresscritters that voted against going to Afghanistan on one FINGER, right?
Troglaman,
Based on your latest rant,It appears your rehab didn't go all that well.
Back in 2001 Congress, as anonymous notes, gave virtually unanimous support to our military efforts in Afghanistan, even the Left was in step---but that was eight years ago. Times change, Obama's now in charge, and Left and Right agree that this 30,000 man surgelet is a waste.
Even Obama doesn't seem to support his own policy, his speech was listless and confused. For a while, I thought his teleprompter had taken control.
And no, I don't believe that people voting for Obama thought they were voting for Hugo Chavez, I was exaggerating for effect.
But some of the DUmmies did vote that way. Read their words, lots of DUmmies think Chavez is the cat's ass.
Speaking of asses, you're sounding more and more like a horse's ass.
We want Obama to fail because he's black? Really? Do you know that because you're an aging hippie with years of bong insight or because you're clairvoyant?
Please inform us rednecks as to the source of your wisdom.
Jackass.
"You do realize that you can count the number of Congresscritters that voted against going to Afghanistan on one FINGER, right?" anon
Yes. Let's get something straight. Being left isn't accurately described as being a happy democrat. Once again, PJ is pointing to the fact that the left is not happy with pursuing the war in Afghanistan. PJ's stating the obvious. The left has NEVER been happy with the war in Afghanistan or Iraq. If you're just waking up to that fact, you're a fucking moron. The left thinks unnecessary wars don't make sense. They thought so in the late 60's when Johnson was president. The fact that Johnson was a Democrat didn't mean shit.
PJ's highlight of the association of Obama to Johnson is, again, accurate.
One difference between Obama's and Johnson's positions is Obama said that he's getting out in 2012 no matter what. At least, that's what I, troglaman, took from his remarks. We'll see.
Here's the difference, you corn cobs. You think he's wrong because he's a black, democrat who got elected president. I think he's wrong because whatever we're trying to achieve in Afghanistan is impossible and always has been. I don't care who's trying to do it.
Your and kat's idiotic measure of a solution relies on the party. That's how you and he/she define this problem which makes you both evolutionarily expendable.
By the way, what ARE we trying to achieve in Afghanistan, anyway? Any of you Einsteins ready to tackle that one?
"McChrystal should have been courtmarshalled when he disrespected the Commander in Chief by calling for an increase in troops. Obama let himself be bullied by this man. What is wrong with him? I'm beginning to think he is becoming a puppet."
I know some of these waste cases are disturbed but, the disconnect with reality, in the above quote, is breathtaking. Even a non-military type should know different.
Yep, these are your bretheren in arms there Troggy. Marching arm in arm.
Jeez...
"And no, I don't believe that people voting for Obama thought they were voting for Hugo Chavez, I was exaggerating for effect." kat
Then what you're saying is you lied for effect. Because what you said was "They wanted Hugo Chavez but got Jimmy Carter instead." So I'm really interested, kat, what was it you were exaggerating? What clever fact were you blowing out of proportion for effect?
You seem to be talking about the DUmmies but you're not. You're talking about you, right?
The answer is yes..."I was exaggerating for effect."
There you go, folks. Excusable distortion. It was "for effect". Some sort of nebulous metaphor initially offered up as fact. I, troglaman, guarantee kat will do it again. And again. And again.
"Yep, these are your bretheren in arms there Troggy. Marching arm in arm." 98ZJUSMC
What the fuck are you talking about, jarhead? You want to start trading crazy commenters? You want me to go to Redstate and cut-and-paste some of their crazy-assed shit? Believe me, there is no limit to the batshit nuthouse content of wingnut comments here, there and everywhere. I've tapped the well. If you want to get into a war of crazy commenters, fine. Bring it on. Or we can agree there are crazy commenters. I'd prefer the later. But if want to go there, they'll be no end to our argument. And I promise for every crazy DUmmie comment you throw at me, troglaman, I'll reciprocate.
So fuck you. If you want to engage in a crazy comment war, then you're a waste of everyone's energy and have, yourself, entered into the realm of crazy comments. You've just made yourself irrelevant.

trogs,
By the way, what ARE we trying to achieve in Afghanistan, anyway?
Damned if I know, but Obama has decided to escalate and withdraw from that unhappy country. A surge...and a withdrawal in 18 months; all the Taliban has to do is hunker down and wait, time is on their side. I'd wager a lot of Afghanis have already maked their calendars accordingly.
Meanwhile Iran has also taken note of Obama's fecklessness and accelerates its Manhattan Project. The 3AM phone call to the White House is going to be a doozy. Maybe O's teleprompter will handle it.
In Afghanistan, Iran and the United States Obama is doing exactly what the terrorists want. But you know that, don't you troggy?
Of course you do.
"he never bowed his head"-DUmmie
Well, not in this country.
"What's next, Mutual of Obama's African Wild Monkey Kingdom?" -troglaman
RACIST!
"The left thinks Afghanistan is stupid."-troglaman
Is that why they called it the "Just" war? Nuance, indeed.
Anonymous 6:59pm,
What's this, more spammer trolls?
Do you really think we'll click on a link like that?
By the way, what ARE we trying to achieve in Afghanistan, anyway?
"Damned if I know" elrond
Well fuck, elrond. Are you just waking up after an 8 year slumber? Elrond Von Winkle? What have we ever been interested in accomplishing in Afghanistan? This war has been going on for over eight years. Did Obama start it? Nope. Did Obama fuck it up? Nope. The fact that you're so desperate to blame everything about this cluster-fuck STARTING with Obama is telling. That perception is so obviously distorted as to be comical. It began over eight years ago. If you think we've just begun making mistakes in Afghanistan, you're a cucumber. Were you all upset then, elrond? Where exactly have you been for the last eight years?
The fact is you're showing up now because you'll object to anything Obama does. Anything and everything. You're not thinking about it, you're just reacting like the fearful, brainless lemming you are.
"Meanwhile Iran has also taken note of Obama's fecklessness and accelerates its Manhattan Project. The 3AM phone call to the White House is going to be a doozy. Maybe O's teleprompter will handle it." elrond
So scary. Is the reason Iran has accelerated its "Manhattan Project" because of Obama's "fecklessness"? Let's do the math, elrond. Think about it. When did Iran accelerate its Manhattan Project? Once you truthfully answer that question, maybe you could admit that it wasn't Obama's "fecklessness" at all. It was something else.
And you're still scared, pussy. We're all going up in an Iranian mushroom cloud any day now. Never mind that we could turn their country into a molten slag heap any time we wanted to. Are you saying the Iranians, within moments, will be able to launch a nuclear attack that would take out our capability?
You've been such a beacon of clarity, elrond. If you correctly assume that it took more than 11 months to build all these secret nuclear facilities, then you must know Iran made the decision to do so long ago. And if you're correct about being "feckless" then you're not talking about Obama. Hmmm. Wonder who it is you ARE talking about?
That'd be you, dumbshit.
troggy,
Same old, same old. Obama as the innocent inheritor of Bush's fuck ups. I won't deny it, there's truth there, but Obama is busy constructing a massive ediface of his own fuck ups on Bush's foundation.
Case in point: the deficit for October and November, 2009 (Obama's watch) $294 billion. Multiply that number by six and realize the abyss we're falling into.
Bush didn't do much about Iran (despite all the dire predictions of the Left) but Obama isn't doing anything, he just dithers; he can't even give his support to the Iranian dissidents. That 3AM phone call will be from Israel and it will present Obama with a problem that he is in no way prepared to handle.
Eleven months will become two years then four years and nothing will get better as a clueless Obama (and his 'droids) blame everything on Bush.
Part of being an adult is to accept responsibility for your own actions, Obama hasn't done that yet. The economy, Afghanistan, Iran, etc. are Obama's problems now; he's got to make the decisions and accept the consequences without whining about Bush. Really, it's unseemly and juvenile.
Obama inherited a mess but has only exacerbated it. Feckless is the correct word to describe Obama and his policies.
You're angry troggy, I don't blame you; you voted for a dud, an empty suit. The party's over and all you have is a hangover.
"Eleven months will become two years then four years and nothing will get better as a clueless Obama (and his 'droids) blame everything on Bush." elrond
I'll hold you to this. I'm confident because you've never been right about fucking anything. That doesn't mean there can't be a first time. Stopped clocks are right twice a day.
What's killing me here is that you just dismiss your mistakes. There's no remorse. There's no shame. You just continue on as if you've been right all along. It's astonishing. You seem to have no fucking clue as to how badly you screwed up. No clue. You just carry on saying the same things, believing the same things and acting if everyone else is fucking up when, in fact, everyone else is trying to dig themselves out of the goddamn black hole you all put us in.
And you never, ever provide a better answer. You just bitch and moan.
What should Obama do about Afghanistan, elrond? Explain it. You can't. All you can bring yourself to do is bitch. Obama's an empty suit, etc. But what you NEVER provide is an alternative. You don't do it with the wars, you don't do it with health care, you don't do it with the economy, you just bitch and moan. You're fucking useless.
When is it you realize you need to just get out of the way? For the good of all mankind.
How about now.
"you've never been right about fucking anything"
I agree. That was totally wrong of him to bone your mom like that.
"But what you NEVER provide is an alternative. You don't do it with the wars, you don't do it with health care, you don't do it with the economy, you just bitch and moan."
Elrond may or may not have, but the conservative alternatives should be eye-gougingly obvious by now.
Iraq & Astan - get in there and put down some serious effort. You get a report that asks for 40K - 60K troops, don't bury the information, and don't send only 30K. Take it seriously, and back it up with serious talk and serious policy. Do the job, get it done right, go home.
Health Care - Tort reform? Tort reform. Oh, and there's an excellent quote from (I believe) C. Everett Koop. "Americans want three things when it comes to medicine: They want it to be cheap, they want it to be cutting-edge, and they want the results to be immediate. In reality, most of the time, you can pick two of the three." Healthcare is expensive; this is nothing new. Smart people plan accordingly.
The economy will, as it always has, and always will, work itself out. Greed fed bubbles, and eventually the bubbles burst. If you bought into the bubble, that was really your own choice to do so. Some people were responsible with their money. Some people weren't. SURPRISE! The people that weren't got burned!
I mean seriously. This is all common sense here. Why do we need to explain common sense to you?
I'll even throw in a bonus topic for you.
Climate Change - show me where the Earth's climate has done anything "unprecedented." Granted, it turns out that most data available to the masses is skewed, altered, or fabricated, so good luck finding an unsullied source. But once you did, you'd be hard-pressed to find anything historic or unprecedented in what has been going on.
troggy,
In criticizing Obama's errors I have never excused Bush's errors. A simple reading of my posts will show that.
Pointing out the unmitigated disasters and excesses of the Obama administration is not "bitching", it's an exercise in telling the truth.
The only reason to stay in Afghanistan is to build a stable goverment and keep al-Qaeda from returning. But I suspect Obama's surgelet is a merely screen for the scheduled withdrawal (in his speech he never mentioned the words "victory" or "success"). There will be the motions of fighting a war, success will be declared and the troops withdrawn---just in time for the 2012 election. It's a political decision, not a military one. Obama is always in a campaign mode.
This doesn't bode well for the Afghanis or for the soldiers defending them. Afghanistan is now a lost war, soldiers will die for no reason. It's time to leave, no more blood, no more money for a war our Commander in Chief has no intention of winning.
Time for you to wake up and realize you're championing a man
who is interested only in power and self aggrandizment. Standing in Obama's way? I hope I am.
"I agree. That was totally wrong of him (troglaman) to bone your mom like that." reason
Sorry to say it was your mom, reason. And she's one damn, special lady.
"The only reason to stay in Afghanistan is to build a stable goverment and keep al-Qaeda from returning" elrond
You sure about that? What the fuck do you mean by "build(ing) a stable government"? How many al-Qaeda are currently in Afghanistan, elrond? Everything I'm reading points to an insignificant number. And what do you mean by a "stable government"? You can start by telling me when Afghanistan has ever had a "stable government". I'm listening.
What it boils down to is you don't know what the fuck you're talking about. And yet you still have the balls to offer an opinion you magically believe in.
You fuckers never cease to amaze me.
That's the best you got? A Pee-Wee Herman "I know you are but what am I?" defense?
You are a disgrace to the trolling industry. I mean, even that wierdo troll on AoS that kept talking about the puppy in his pants was better than this. Hang your head in shame.
"You fuckers never cease to amaze me.
And you, fuckhead, never cease amusing us. You actually believe your own bullshit.
I have nothing, reason, that compares to your mom. You win.
"I have nothing"-troglaman
You needn't have written anything else beyond this.
