The Hillary supporters are accusing the Barack supporters of being sexists. There are threads about why sexism isn't considered as bad as racism, when it should be. Hey, wait a minute: Halfblack Obama is as much white as he is black. Maybe it's only half-racist to oppose him.
Meanwhile, the Edwards supporters are complaining about Silky Pony not getting as much coverage as B.O. or Her Thighness. Since Edwards is white, I guess he would be racist, but would he be sexist for opposing Hillary? I mean, who is more feminine?
Then there are the hardcore Kookcinich nuts, imploring the Burrito Bill Richardson supporters (all five of them) to give Kookie a chance. It's sad, really.

Trogalman, the Republican field has major policy differences. Huckabee is a big government idiot who loves Jesus, Mitt and Rudy are rather moderate, Ron Paul is nuts, McCain is the maverick, and Fred is a federalist with strong conservative credentials. There is a reason for the arguing amongst Republicans: We have five (or six, I think Mitt and Rudy are about the same) very different stances on policy, government, and politics. We are deciding which one is the policy we want to put forth in this election.

The Dems seem to be fighting over which victim status gets the torch this time, or something. It seems like they're treating blackness and femaleness as qualifications, and arguing about why one candidate "deserves" the office over another.
NO ONE "deserves" the office of the Presidency, ever. One can be elected to it, sure, but that's the only way that someone can end up "deserving" it. Being black or a woman or sticking by a philandering scumbag for a few decades does not a President make.
We've got policy distinctions, they argue over who the more deserving victim is. It's all personal identity politics to them.
I heard something today that explains all this perfectly.
Back when The Reprobate (Clinton) left office, he and The Shrew (Rodham) failed to replace their hate mongering guttersnipe (McAuliffe) with another of their minions. This allowed Howard "Mad Dog" Dean to claim the party chairmanship. A hard core Socialist, Mad Dog Dean completed the transformation of what was once the Democratic Party in what it is today - The Socialist Democratic Party of America. This has led to the bitter vicious infighting you see among so-called "Democrats" today. The party's groupthink requirement has been imposed completely on the party. If you don't comform to the party groupthink (total support for a Socialist agenda and total and complete hatred for Republicans and Conservatives), you are expunged from the party and if possible you will also be personally and professionally destroyed. Don't believe me? Ask Joe Lieberman about it, he's the biggest example of what Dean and his minions do.
Enter Rodham running for President. McAuliffe would have guarenteed blind unquestioning party support and she would have had no serious opposition. But Dean is in charge and he has no use for either Rodham or Clinton. He wants them, the DLC, and anyone who doesn't agree with people like those on Democratic Underground or DailyKos purged from the party and destroyed. Clinton and Rodham supporters want their opponents destroyed. The result is the all out war you're now seeing where the candidates of the party that has for decades proclaimed itself the primary and sole protectors of both women and minorities attacking each other as racists and sexists. There is a war going on for that party and incredibly Democrats seem willing to do nothing to take control of their party back from either the Socialists (Dean) or the people who have rendered it a laughingstock (Clinton and Rodham).
Either way, unless Democrats are willing to take SERIOUS action to reclaim their party from these narcissitic individuals, they will watch their party become marginalized and possibly destroyed. The worst thing for the country would be for The Socialist Democratic Party to win either Congress or the Presidency in this election. Regardless of whether Dean supporters or Rodham supporters gain control of the party, if that party gains power, it is we the people who will get screwed hard and screwed blind.
Personally, I'm pulling for "Mad Dog" Dean's minions to win this war. It will insure the destruction of the party and possibly the Democrats regaining control of the Democratic Party. Regardless, its destruction should finally give a lot of people a true choice in elections instead of the choice of a Republican or a third party candidate.

Don't like the government bailing out morons who bought a bad mortgage, I think our vets deserve better care then the socialized medicine of the VA, and I am very much opposed to agricultural subsidies.
I am very well aware of what socialism is and I don't like any of it. There was a time when the entire government of the United States fit into the White House, the Capitol, and the Executive Office Building. There were not fifteen Cabinet departments, there were four. Congressmen did not have staffs of twenty or more, all provided at taxpayer expense, and people came to the government to serve and not to rule.
You advocate the expansion of the power of the federal government in order to correct problems real or imagined, but that is a very bad idea, because we expanded the federal government to deal with problems, and now we have the biggest problem of all: dealing with the monster we have created. We've solved all the big problems in this country, so now we have a government trying to cram itself into the small things. It's a recipe for disaster and an invitation to an erosion of freedom.
